A leading rail transport company in Peterborough seeks a Safety and Audit Manager to oversee the Safety Management System. The role involves guiding health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, and conducting audits. Candidates must hold a NEBOSH General Certificate and have at least 3 years' experience in the UK Railway industry. Our Safety department requires a skilled and motivated Safety and Audit Manager to join our friendly team in Peterborough!
In this role, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the annual Safety Management System, supporting and advising on health, safety, and wellbeing activities to maintain high standards and foster continuous improvement, enhancing our company culture.
You will provide guidance on health, safety, environmental, and quality assurance matters, increasing awareness across the business while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will escalate significant issues to management and ensure swift action and effective communication throughout the company.
You will also conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO9001, and other relevant legislation. This includes monitoring non-conformances, reporting to the Executive Team, and supporting teams in closing out action plans on a monthly basis.
The salary range is £47,000-£52,000, depending on experience.
Regular travel across the UK is required, and a clean driving license is essential.
