Safety and Assurance Consultant

Locations: Burton - Upon - Trent, Manchester & Lincoln

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

With this in mind, we are currently seeking experienced Safety and Assurance Consultants to undertake exciting and interesting work that makes a difference in the wider world.

Working within a consultancy environment offers the chance to experience a wide variety of projects and you'll be expected to bid for, win, work on, and manage projects, as well as work with and support people and clients. We are particularly interested in motivated consultants who are keen to network with clients to win new work and guide the delivery of projects supported by the wider team of engineers.

In this role you will be able to influence the type of work and projects you get involved in. You may wish to focus in one area to grow your subject matter expertise in a particular market or you may wish to embrace the diversity of opportunity on offer. The following examples give a small taster of the types of project work that our Systems Integration and Assurance team are involved in and that you could become a part of:

  • Undertaking safety projects within the Aerospace domain; developing safety assessments for both Rotary and Fixed wing aircrafts, as well as working on certification for major project upgrades.
  • You may also have opportunities to work on projects such as - Developing Safety Case Reports to support critical national rail infrastructure projects - Provide safety and assurance expertise to assist with maritime projects and/or Exposure to safety case development for defence related land vehicles/systems.
  • Although primarily focused on safety and assurance, we also have projects running that cover legislative and regulatory compliance, aviation facility design, risk and quality management across Defence (Air, Sea and Land) and transport and infrastructure, with aspirations to extend into the space domain.
Requirements:

Experience in the safety domain including:
  • Safety Legislation, Regulation and Policy
  • Qualified to Chartered Engineer level (or working towards)
  • Derivation of Safety Functional Requirements
  • Hazard Identification / Hazard Analysis / Fault Sequence Assessment
  • Deterministic or Probabilistic Safety Assessment or Engineering Design Substantiation
  • Safety Case development and authoring
  • Safety management and its application throughout the equipment lifecycle; including design, operation, and decommissioning
  • The ability to build relationships both externally with our clients and internally with our delivery teams and support functions
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and will be required to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
