This is for the spring/summer term, with the opportunity for full-time employment based on performance and company needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and proactive individual to be part of the future of agriculture. Our Safety Advisors are committed to fostering a culture of safety and well-being for our employees. In this role, you will support our Safety Manager in implementing and maintaining our occupational health and safety programs. This position is ideal for a student pursuing a career in OH&S. In one of Canada’s top John Deere dealer organizations, you will deliver quality work in a friendly and collaborative environment that encourages learning and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Safety Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits
  • Participate in safety training sessions and discussions
  • Support incident investigations and hazard assessments
  • Maintain safety documentation and records
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all locations
  • Conduct safety training and maintain safety training records
  • Participate in training programs to develop skills/knowledge
Requirements
  • Completed or enrolled in post-secondary program in OH&S, or related field
  • Knowledge of OH&S regulations and best practices is an asset
  • Proficient using MS Office suite; knowledge of safety programs an asset
  • Desire to learn and grow in the role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be self-motivated
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Valid driver’s license required; with willingness to travel independently, as needed
