Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting a Safer Travel Officer. This home-based role develops personalised transport plans to help children, young people and adults with disabilities reach destinations safely across Lancashire.

You will conduct risk assessments, design passenger safety plans, and collaborate with education and health partners. The post supports 37 hours per week with a competitive pension and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport is not required; if you have experience in supporting people with special educational needs, physical disabilities, mobility, medical or home access issues, this could be the role for you.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out person-specific risk assessments and developing passenger safety plans.
• Carrying out home visits and attending multi-agency meetings with partners including education and health to ensure the safe travel of people with complex needs in Lancashire.
