Job summary

Mitie Group plc. seeks a vigilant Security Officer to provide a visible security presence across designated operational areas in Norwich, supporting crime reduction and a safe environment for colleagues, visitors and the wider community.

You will patrol, liaise with NSOR, and report incidents promptly while maintaining equipment and records. A valid SIA licence and right to work in the UK with a 5-year history are required.

Qualifications

• SIA Licence required and current.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• First Aid qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

Role Purpose

To provide a visible, proactive security presence across designated operational areas, supporting the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for colleagues, visitors, and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Duties and Patrolling

• -Liaise with the National Security Operations Room (NSOR) at the start, during, and end of shifts.
• -Always maintain effective communication while on duty.
• -Ensure all equipment is issued, used, and recorded correctly.
• -Report incidents and activity in a timely and accurate manner.
• -Maintain a visible presence to deter crime and provide reassurance.

Security Support & Engagement

• -Support wider security operations as required.
• -Respond to management or NSOR requests.
• -Engage professionally with colleagues, visitors, and members of the public.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• -Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions.

Desirable
