Overview

Safeguarding, Welfare and Attendance Support - Permanent position - Basingstoke

Academics have an exciting opportunity for you to join an amazing Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Basingstoke which provides education for pupils aged 10-16 with social, emotional and mental health needs and autism, (SEMH) (ASC).

The role is to appoint a Safeguarding, Welfare and Attendance Support (SWAS) to become part of their growing team. This is a permanent position starting in September/ASAP, working 42.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safeguarding, welfare and attendance support within the school context.
  • Collaborate with staff to support pupils with SEMH and ASC where appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Previous training/experience within a safeguarding/attendance role, Social Services, or Police.
  • GCSE Maths and English grades A-C.
  • Good understanding of attendance protocols.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, be patient and empathetic, and build strong relationships with young people.
