Job summary

The Archdiocese of Southwark is seeking a Development Safeguarding Assistant to support the Safeguarding Team with casework, safeguarding plans, and administrative tasks. The role is designed for someone starting a safeguarding career and who wants to learn the work alongside an experienced team.

You will work under supervision with regular training, supervision, and a clear development path toward more responsibility, including safeguarding plan administration and DBS-related duties.

Qualifications

• Good standard of general education, including English and Mathematics.
• A relevant qualification, or a qualification in a related subject area.
• Willingness to work towards a relevant safeguarding qualification.
• Post subject to enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Provide general administrative support to the Safeguarding Office.
• Assist with audits, data returns and the annual safeguarding report.
• Receive, record safeguarding referrals and support casework under supervision.
• Support training delivery and safer recruitment processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records on the case management system.
• Travel to parishes and other locations as required.
