Job summary

Weavers Academy, an 11-18 non-selective school within Creative Education Trust, is recruiting a permanent Safeguarding Officer for its safeguarding team. The post centres on early intervention, building trusted relationships with students and families, and helping students overcome barriers alongside pastoral staff and external agencies.

It runs for 37 hours across 41 weeks and suits someone comfortable with multi-agency work, with GCSE maths and English and evidence of working with young people

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance including KCSIE, and child protection procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for multi-agency work.
• Confident building positive relationships with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Supporting young people and building positive relationships with students and families.
• Providing early intervention and effective support to students.
• Working with colleagues and external partners to help students overcome barriers.
• Working collaboratively with pastoral staff, families and external agencies.
• Applying robust safeguarding practice across the academy.
• Helping create a culture where student welfare is everyone's priority.
