Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Safeguarding Practitioner to provide specialist advisory and educational support across the Trust. You will work with the Named Midwife and Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children to ensure robust policies are in place and promote best practice.

You will develop safeguarding standards, facilitate multi-disciplinary training, and support risk escalation.

Qualifications

• Post registration experience at Band 5 or above.
• Knowledge of Safeguarding theory and practice.
• Experience in multi-professional and multi-agency work.
• Experience in teaching or delivering training.
• Knowledge of local and national safeguarding policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice and support on Safeguarding Children matters for Trust colleagues.
• Develop, maintain and evaluate safeguarding training programmes.
• Support colleagues managing complex safeguarding situations to improve competence and confidence.
• Support operational aspects of Domestic Abuse agenda and liaise with Domestic Abuse officers.
• Access legal advice when appropriate and share escalations with safeguarding leads.
• Undertake regular audit activity as directed.
• Participate in committees and forums as required.
