Job summary

Shropshire Council is seeking an experienced Children's Safeguarding Review Lead to support safeguarding practice, quality assurance, and learning across Children's Social Care. Working with the Principal Social Worker, you will lead safeguarding reviews, coordinate learning activities, and foster multi-agency partnership working to drive improvements for children and families.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within Children's Social Care, safeguarding, quality assurance, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and statutory guidance.
• Experience contributing to safeguarding reviews and multi-agency learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the PSW/Service Manager for Quality Assurance in safeguarding partnership activities and review processes.
• Coordinate and facilitate safeguarding incident meetings and progress actions.
• Lead on reviewing records and analyses across rapid reviews and other safeguarding case reviews.
• Prepare scoping forms, IMRs, chronologies, and other review documentation.
• Represent Children's Social Care at multi-agency meetings with professional analysis and risk assessment.
• Attend and contribute to case review panels and learning events.
• Deputise for the Service Manager at safeguarding governance meetings.
• Lead dissemination of learning from reviews across the workforce.
• Design methods to evaluate the impact of learning on frontline practice.
