Job summary

Pleo is seeking a Finance & Reconciliations Analyst in Safeguarding to own daily reconciliations and support governance reporting. You will interact with Finance Operations, Compliance, and Product while maintaining strong control environments.

You will analyze customer funds movements, support external audits, and help improve processes. A proactive, data-driven mindset and curiosity about payments regulation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in reconciliations, payments, finance operations or similar role.
• Comfort working with data and spreadsheets to extract and present information clearly.
• Methodical and accurate approach with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to explain findings to colleagues and auditors.
• Genuine interest in how financial services and payments regulation works in practice.
• A passion for solving problems in practical and innovative ways.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support daily and periodic safeguarding reconciliations across customer funds, balances and transactions.
• Monitor reconciliation outputs and conduct post-review checks and follow-up activity.
• Investigate breaks and exceptions, escalating where needed and tracking issues to resolution.
• Maintain accurate records, supporting documentation and audit trails.
• Prepare management information for governance forums including the Safeguarding Committee.
• Work with data in spreadsheets and internal systems to extract, check and present information clearly.
• Identify patterns in exceptions and recurring issues and flag them to the team.
• Contribute to reconciliations‑related projects, including system changes and tooling improvements.
• Flag inefficiencies or control weaknesses and propose practical improvements.
• Support development and automation of reporting processes over time.
• Help prepare documentation for external audits and respond to auditor queries.
