Job summary

South Tyneside Council is seeking a Safeguarding Practitioner to join the Safeguarding Adults Team in the Town Hall and Civic Offices. The role focuses on strengths-based interventions under the Making Safeguarding Personal agenda to help adults with care and support needs achieve their outcomes.

You will work to Section 42 Enquiries and advise colleagues and partners on safeguarding requirements, attending multi-agency meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in adult safeguarding legislation and practice.
  • Commitment to Making Safeguarding Personal.
  • Willingness to undertake further bespoke learning and development.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake duties including Section 42 Enquiries under the Care Act 2014.
  • Support colleagues and partner organisations on safeguarding requirements.

Safeguarding Practitioner

(Safeguarding Adults Team, Town Hall and Civic Offices)

Salary Range £37,280 - £45,091 pa

Career Grade (Bar at £39,152, £40,777 and £42,839) depending on experience

About the Role

Assigned to our Safeguarding Adults Team, you will undertake a range of strengths-based interventions aligned to the Making Safeguarding Personal agenda, to ensure adults with care and support needs and their families and carers' achieve their desired outcomes. You will undertake a range of duties including Section 42 Enquiries as required by the Care Act 2014, support and advise colleagues and partner organisations on the requirements of safeguarding and attend multi agency complex management meetings.

About You

Driven by research, innovation and the desire to develop best practice, you must demonstrate an applied knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation and be willing to undertake further bespoke learning and development to support your future progression.

As a professional Safeguarding Practitioner you will want to practice in a setting that believes that people are at their healthiest and happiest when they are supported to remain independent, close to the people they love and who love them, in the neighbourhoods and communities they call home.
