Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is seeking a motivated Safeguarding Officer for a leading Further Education College in Merseyside. This temporary, full-time role focuses on promoting student safety, wellbeing and welfare, offering information, advice and guidance to those experiencing safeguarding concerns.

You will help ensure statutory safeguarding duties are met, including Keeping Children Safe in Education, and you will engage with staff and external partners to provide support and training as required.

Qualifications

• A minimum Level 2 Safeguarding qualification.
• Understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education and Prevent duty.
• DBS check is required.
• Experience in safeguarding/advising students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Support safeguarding and Prevent policy implementation, reporting and referrals.
• Provide timely, sensitive information, advice and guidance to students.
• Identify appropriate support to help students stay engaged with studies.
• Deliver safeguarding information sessions to students and staff.
• Promote safeguarding culture through communications and events.
• Contribute to safeguarding training for staff and students.
• Collaborate with external agencies to manage concerns effectively.
• Help ensure safeguarding responsibilities are understood across the organisation.
