Job summary

Norwich City College of Further and Higher Education is seeking a Safeguarding Officer to join our Wellbeing and Safeguarding team. You will promote safety, wellbeing and success of our students across Paston and Easton sites, with some travel to Norwich.

The role requires extensive safeguarding and child protection experience, a relevant professional qualification, and strong communication skills. You will collaborate with multi-agency partners, manage a busy caseload and maintain accurate

Responsibilities

  • Provide safeguarding support and make referrals to Children’s and Adult Social Care and other specialist services.
  • Work with the Wellbeing and Safeguarding team to support students.
  • Lead multi‑agency working to secure the best outcomes for young people.
  • Manage a busy caseload and maintain accurate records.
  • Occasional evening work may be required.

We are seekingan experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Wellbeing and Safeguarding team andplay a key role in promoting the safety, wellbeing and success of our students.

The successfulcandidate will bring substantial experience in safeguarding and childprotection, ideally gained within a social work, education or related setting.You will work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary Wellbeing team,providing support to students and, where appropriate, making referrals toChildren's and Adult Social Care and other specialist services.

This is anexciting opportunity for an exceptional communicator who thrives in partnershipworking. You will build strong relationships with colleagues, students andexternal agencies, taking a lead role in multi-agency working to ensure thebest possible outcomes for young people.

The rolerequires excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the abilityto manage a busy and varied caseload, maintain accurate records and coordinatesupport effectively. A keen eye for detail, sound professional judgement andthe ability to prioritise competing demands are essential.
