Job summary

North Star 180° in Bath is seeking an experienced Safeguarding Officer to promote the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all pupils, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and deputy leaders. You will help implement safeguarding procedures and ensure children receive the protection they need.

This role requires strong safeguarding knowledge, excellent communication and a passion for improving outcomes for children and families within a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in all aspects of safeguarding and child protection.
• Maintain accurate safeguarding records and documentation.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality and welfare concerns, identifying and responding to emerging risks.
• Liaise with children, families, social care, health professionals and other agencies.
• Attend safeguarding meetings, child protection conferences and multi‑agency meetings as required.
• Provide advice and guidance to staff on safeguarding concerns and referral processes.
• Support early intervention and pastoral strategies to improve pupil wellbeing and engagement.
• Contribute to safeguarding audits, policy reviews and compliance activities.
• Help promote a strong safeguarding culture throughout the school.

Join Our Team

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated and committed Safeguarding Officer to play a pivotal role in promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all pupils across our school.

Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), in particular the assistant head (DDSL) senior leaders, staff, parents and external agencies, you will support the effective implementation of safeguarding procedures and ensure that children receive the support and protection they need to succeed.
