Charity People are working with a youth-focused charity who require an experienced Safeguarding Officer to join their team on a temporary basis for up to three months to cover some gaps in the team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with strong safeguarding expertise who is confident making risk-based decisions, providing guidance to frontline teams, and managing safeguarding concerns.
Working closely with the charity’s frontline service and safeguarding colleagues, you will provide advice and direction on safeguarding matters involving children, young people and vulnerable adults. You will play a key role in ensuring safeguarding policies, procedures and statutory requirements are followed, helping to protect individuals and reduce risk.
You will support staff managing safeguarding disclosures and concerns, assess risk, make timely decisions, and take the lead on referrals to external agencies where appropriate. The role also involves maintaining accurate records on the database.
