Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 depending on skills and experience

As Safeguarding Manager, the role will provide advisory and tactical delivery of safeguarding practice and procedures to clients in line with recommendations and identified gaps. Provide expertise to support them with implementation of those requirements and improvements across all Mitie services. Complete specialist reviews, gap analysis and risk assessments in line with safeguarding frameworks and as directed by the Head of Safeguarding. Support clients in their response and the reasonable steps expected of them to protect and safeguard their staff and support their wellbeing whilst ensuring they are compliant under current and new legislation.

This is a new and exciting role and part of a team built to support Mitie's Safer Communities strategy by providing subject matter expertise to existing functions and services provided by Mitie to clients across all sectors, which includes business, retail, sporting and public sectors.

Main Duties

As the Safeguarding Manager you will form part of a team working with clients to enhance skills & knowledge, Models of Practice, policy & procedures to enhance safeguarding practice that promotes a safer community. The role will work across a number of areas with each client to advise and support delivery that ensures organisations are not only safeguarding and protecting their people but demonstrating compliance with legislation changes such as the Workers Protection Act, Employees Rights Bill, Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding legislation.

The role will assist in developing new approaches in sectors not currently practising contextual safeguarding and being innovative with new technologies such as AI and how it may support better protection and safeguarding activity. The role will offer support for continuous professional development, the building of new and improved training provision that builds more awareness, response and activity across all sectors whilst looking at how best to identify and deter those that would seek to harm.

What We Are Looking For
  1. Experienced Safeguarding professional in a fast paced environment. Beneficial to have worked across different areas of safeguarding practice.
  2. Experience of supporting the development of policy and best practice across different sectors.
  3. Able to demonstrate where you have influenced, advised and supported colleagues or sectors on safeguarding.
  4. Demonstrable knowledge of safeguarding and connected legislation.
  5. Self motivated, driven and passionate about making a difference for people and communities.
  6. Experience of establishing effective working relationships, partnerships and collaborations across a range of organisations.
  7. Proven planning, organisational skills and attention to detail.
  8. Able to demonstrate where you have influenced and driven change.
  9. Flexible and able to adapt to changing workplace and regulatory requirements. Able to demonstrate continuous professional development.
  10. Delivers to the highest standards, responsible, ethical, a good communicator who values and respects others and is able to build strong relationships and partnerships.
