Position: Qualified Social Worker

Location: West Midlands

Pay rate: £33.30 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join an award-winning safeguarding team. This team works long-term with children and families to address safeguarding concerns, including progressing CP/CIN/pre-proceedings and court proceedings. You will manage a caseload of 19 to 21 cases.

As part of this dedicated team, you will work in a busy, supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening where needed to provide early support. Your work will involve direct assessment with children and families, partnering with agencies such as police and health services to ensure positive, sustainable outcomes. The service maintains strong links with integrated prevention and early help colleagues to promote community support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions, in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with service users and partner agencies to meet identified needs.
  • Strive for positive, sustainable results through best practice and a commitment to high-quality outcomes for children.
  • Support children and families to thrive and flourish, prioritizing protection and efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and vulnerable groups.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and issues.
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach.
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years qualified experience.
In this role, you will:

  • Manage a caseload effectively.
  • Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
