Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

Lead on both operational and strategic work relating to domestic abuse following the Domestic Abuse Act, and the Council’s Domestic Abuse Strategy

Ensure supported emergency safe-accommodation is available for survivors by sourcing and coordinating pan-London accommodation availability i.e., refuge spaces, single sex accommodation and other ‘relevant safe accommodation’.

Be the central point of contact for both internal staff and external providers and organising cross-departments collaboration. To act as third party liaison working closely with local domestic abuse agencies and the Community Safety Teams in both boroughs.

Monitor domestic abuse and report on trends, including reporting to the GLA and MOPAC as needed.

Effective staff management of direct reports and deputising for Senior Managers.

To be the training lead for the department therefore being an expert Domestic Abuse, this will include providing training to new starters, as well as periodic training for all staff. The postholder will need to be up to date with all policy changes and ensure their own training is kept up to date.

Fixed Term Contract till 31st March, contract may be extended subject to external funding.

Candidate Profile

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent extensive experience in the field of domestic abuse, social care, housing or safeguarding
  • Experience of working in a domestic abuse, Housing or safeguarding related area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key domestic abuse related processes, such as MARAC and Domestic Homicide Reviews
  • Able to lead multi-agency meetings and deliver across a range of partnerships.
  • Experience of writing and presenting complex reports and delivery plans
