Job Title: Safe House Advocate

Location: Gillingham

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safe House Advocate to join our committed team. In this role, you will provide high-quality emotional and practical frontline support to residents who may have experienced trafficking and modern slavery, including sexual and criminal exploitation, domestic servitude, and other forms of exploitation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manage a caseload of residents recognized as potential victims of trafficking within the National Referral Mechanism (NRM).
  2. Advocate on behalf of residents to ensure access to ECAT rights and assist them in navigating the NRM.
  3. Identify and assess risks, implementing appropriate safeguarding measures.
  4. Report incidents within strict timeframes and liaise with emergency services as needed.
  5. Handle urgent requests and unforeseen issues professionally.
  6. Conduct regular key work sessions with residents, documenting all interactions in the case management system.
  7. Have a comprehensive understanding of public and private services available to residents, including those with no recourse to public funds, and liaise confidently with these services.
  8. Draft official correspondence to the Home Office and other partner agencies on behalf of service users.
  9. Participate in team meetings, supervisions, clinical supervision, and mandatory training sessions.
