Job summary

Oxford-based Oncology Nurse (Band 6) is sought to join Your World on a locum basis, covering 16/11/2026 to 12/12/2026. The role offers a pay rate of £27 per hour (P/H) with pay range dependent on qualifications and experience.

You will administer chemotherapy and specialist treatments, monitor patients for side effects, and collaborate with oncologists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality care in line with NMC guidelines.

The Opportunity

As a vital pillar of the oncology department, you will transform the patient journey by bridging the gap between advanced clinical treatment and compassionate support. This role empowers you to act as a clinical lead in chemotherapy administration, ensuring that every patient receives the precise, high-standard care required to navigate their diagnosis with dignity.

• Clinical Delivery: Administer chemotherapy and specialist treatments while proactively monitoring for side effects and managing acute symptoms to maximise patient comfort.
• Technical Excellence: Maintain mastery over oncology-specific protocols and equipment, ensuring the safe delivery of complex medication regimes.
• Quality & Compliance: Uphold stringent NMC guidelines and Trust safety standards, ensuring all patient records and treatment plans meet national clinical benchmarks.
• Operational Success: Coordinate seamlessly with oncologists and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive, patient-centred care pathways.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 12 months of experience within a UK healthcare setting, specifically within an oncology or acute care environment.

• Credentials: A valid nursing degree and current NMC registration are mandatory.
• Logistics: Must have the right to work in the UK and provide two professional references.
