A leading NHS Trust in the South East is seeking a highly motivated nurse for the Charles Dickens treatment unit, specializing in oncological care. The role requires proactivity and teamwork, ensuring high standards of service while supporting patients across their treatment journey. Charles Dickens is a 16-chair treatment unit delivering SACT and supportive treatments to patients with oncological cancers.
Applicants should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive. The post holder will work as part of the nursing team, supporting the ward manager to run an effective and safe ward. Charles Dickens treats patients throughout their treatment pathway, providing individualized, compassionate, and informed care.
Successful applicants should be prepared to support the transition to a 6-day service if future demands necessitate.

You should be able to combine autonomy with team working, sensitivity, and professionalism.
You will be expected to adopt a holistic, proactive, and dynamic approach, responsible for delivering high standards of care and service. In collaboration with colleagues, you will support patients and their carers across all aspects of care, whether they are newly diagnosed or receiving palliative treatment.

All successful applicants will complete our corporate trust induction once a start date is agreed. Following this, you will attend the Trust’s 2-week induction programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs, and Paramedics. The programme is full-time, involves travel to both Trust sites, and includes supernumerary shifts, classroom sessions, and e-learning.
