Job description

Our Cancer Services has an exciting opportunity for a Developmental post for registered Nurses. Commencing as a Band 5 Nurse, working alongside our specialist SACT Nurses and Practice Development Nurses, you will complete a set of competencies, Objectives and the SACT course - All leading to an uplifted permanent Band 6 Specialist SACT Nurse!

Main duties of the job

What is involved?

  • Assessing patients prior to commencement of therapy.
  • Undertaking Identification of care plans.
  • Administering Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy and other Cancer/Haematological treatments including supporting therapy with subsequent support for advice regarding any complications.
  • Assessing patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload of cancer patients.
  • Assisting in the delivery of care to meet the individual's health and wellbeing needs throughout the cancer treatment pathway.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing Cancer services and contribute to improvement within the services.
