A local government organization is seeking a Street Works Major Works / S278 Inspector. This role involves managing major schemes and ensuring compliance with street works regulations. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and IT skills, and while NRSWA Accreditation is preferred, training will be provided. A full driving license is required. The Street Works Team currently has a vacancy for a Street Works Major Works / S278 Inspector. The team oversees various forms of licenced activity on the highway, including street works, road works, road closures, skips and scaffolding licences.
We are looking for an inspector to manage all major schemes and S278 works across the County and to assist in the enforcement of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA), Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA) and the Cambridgeshire Permit Scheme for Road Works and Street Works under Part 3 of TMA; to undertake inspections, monitoring and ensure compliance with the statutory requirements along with the Council's policies and operational plans. The post holder will be required to maintain excellent working relationship with third parties engaged in the planning and execution of street works.

Working across Cambridgeshire, the role would be ideal for an enthusiastic individual who is an excellent communicator with a "Can Do" attitude. Experience and NRSWA Accreditation is preferred although not essential as training will be provided. Candidates must have a full driving licence and be flexible to cover the county as and when required. They must also have good IT skills.
