Lancashire Constabulary's ICT Application Data Cleansing Team is seeking an ICT Applications Information Assurance and Data Cleansing Assistant to be based at Hutton Headquarters. The site is accessible by public transport and there is also free car parking on site.

The purpose of this role is to review, cleanse, and correct electronic data within CONNECT, which is used by Lancashire Constabulary to record information in intelligence, investigation management, case preparation, and custody. This involves checking and updating existing records using all available constabulary resources, working under the direction of the ICT Applications Information Assurance & Data Quality Team Leader to an agreed plan for data checking. The role also requires acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for projects related to Data Quality linked to the force record management system, ensuring that correct data quality rules, methods, and protocols are known, documented, and disseminated to the wider constabulary.

The CONNECT Information Assurance & Data Cleansing Assistant vacancy is required to cover normal core working hours (between 7am and 6pm) Monday to Friday, with flexible working opportunities, including working from home for part of the week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check the accuracy of existing records on the Force Record Management system against set criteria to make informed decisions regarding the disposal of information and amend data accordingly.
  • Provide regular updates to the ICT Applications Information Assurance & Quality Team Leader, communicating progress in respect of the agreed timeline.
  • Search existing and available IT systems to enable nominal entries on force information systems to be merged according to the guidance on MoPI and retain data quality within the Force RMS.
Skills and Experience:
  • PNC /LEDs training - The PNC /LEDs course can be completed during normal work hours.
  • Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and MoPI Guidance.
  • Experience of working on own initiative, investigating problems, developing solutions, and taking appropriate timely action to resolve them.
