Job description

Carrington West is assisting a London-based local authority client in recruiting for a Developer Contributions Team Leader (S106) on an initial 6-month contract, with potential for rolling extension.

We are seeking a team leader to manage a team of up to ten officers. The role involves leading transformational change, co-designing a work programme, and developing a service improvement plan for 2025/26.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Team Leader with expertise in the collection and enforcement of planning obligation matters. Responsibilities include scrutinising developer submissions, maximising S106 monies collection, and maintaining exemplary governance and internal controls.

Key qualities include:

  1. Experience in people management
  2. Ability to lead service transformation
  3. Supportive of team development
  4. Technical proficiency in planning obligations and infrastructure planning
  5. Willingness to undertake S106 compliance casework as needed

Beneficial qualifications include a Degree or postgraduate diploma in town and country planning, geography, environmental science, sustainability, or geology, with in-depth knowledge of the UK planning system.

The council seeks candidates who can start promptly and have experience leading professional officers in town planning, S106, CIL, or infrastructure planning matters.

Pay Rate: £45/hour
