Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent S&T Installations Supervisor to join our E&S team at Bedford or Doncaster. The role is on-site, 37.5 hours per week with some weekend and night work.

You will supervise and deliver allocated S&T contract works safely and in compliance with contract specifications, programmes and Amey procedures. You’ll lead and coordinate signalling installation activities, risk assessments, resource planning and progress reporting, while ensuring high safety and performance standards

Qualifications

• S&T rail installations industry experience required.
• IRSE installation licence desirable.
• Proven experience supervising signalling installation activities.
• PTS, SMTH and health & safety training (IOSH/CITB SSSTS) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure signalling installation works meet standards and hand over with minimal defects.
• Test works to SMTH standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures as needed.
• Coordinate with planning to ensure site paperwork accuracy.
• Prepare and review resource schedules, methodologies and work packages.
• Keep project management informed of progress and performance.
• Lead and supervise workforce including subcontractors to meet safety and performance targets.
• Attend safety briefings, tool box talks, and pre-work briefings.
• Liaise with site team to ensure smooth site operations.
• Attend planning and progress meetings as required.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent S&T Installations Supervisor to join our dynamic E&S team at Bedford or Doncaster. 37.5 hrs per week, on-site, with a requirement to work some weekends and nights.

In this role, you will supervise and deliver allocated Signalling & Telecommunications (S&T) contract works safely and efficiently, ensuring all activities comply with contract specifications, approved programmes, target costs, relevant legislation, and Amey procedures

This role offers you a great opportunity to work with one of NR main contractors on Signalling frameworks across the Eastern region.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure Signal installation works are carried out to the correct standards and handed over to the TIC with minimal defects / re-work.
• Test works to SMTH.
• Participate in risk assessments and put in place adequate control measures when required.
• Provide information to planning team to ensure accurate site paperwork can be produced.
• Participate in reviewing/preparation of resource schedules, methodology and preparation of Work Package Plans and Task Briefings.
• Keeping the Project Manager / Construction Manager updated on production progress.
• Ensure effective leadership & supervision of workforce including subcontractors and tier 2 labour to achieve high levels of safety, performance, attendance and behavioural standards.
• Undertake / attend Safety Briefings, Tool Box Talks, WPP, Pre Work / COSS and Task Briefings
• Liaise with the site team as necessary to ensure the efficient running of the site.
• Attendance at planning / progress meetings as required.
