Section Manager – Signalling Control & Systems Maintenance

Location: London

Role Description:

The Resolute Group has been retained by a key supplier to Network Rail, to identify and recruit a Section Manager to lead 2x S&T maintenance teams.

This is a critical leadership position focused more on leadership and managing a high-performing team than on technical knowledge. As long as you understand the Signalling and Telecoms network, be it Network Rail, DfT, DLR or other associated Rail networks, supported by strong leadership and team development experience, then this could be right for you.

As Section Manager, your day-to-day duties will be responsible for leading a team of engineers through inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal S&T works. Your team, although day-based, is also responsible for failures across the network. This covers the full 24/7 operation, so you will be managing on-call teams and you may need to be there if any major faults occur.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Infrastructure Maintenance delivery teams and contractors across the South East region (London based).
  • Ensure all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with railway standards.
  • Oversee inspection, fault-finding, routine maintenance, and asset renewals.
  • Prepare and manage work programmes, method statements, and technical plans.
  • Conduct site checks, asset condition inspections, and quality reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3/4 (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Experience managing technical maintenance teams in a safety-critical Rail environment.
  • Must hold (or be able to obtain) relevant Track Safety Competencies (Drug and Alcohol testing and medical).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

PLEASE NOTE

Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK to be considered for this position.
