Unipart, Field Based, is seeking an S/4 Senior Basis Consultant to design, implement, and maintain SAP‑S/4HANA systems while guiding technical teams. The role focuses on performance, availability, and enterprise‑grade architecture aligned with security standards.

You will lead migrations, cloud integration across AWS/Azure/GCP, and oversee TMS and patch management while mentoring junior engineers. A competitive package includes 33 days holiday and a comprehensive benefits scheme.

Qualificações

• Extensive experience in SAP Basis administration including SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA.
• Proven track record in OS/DB migrations, S/4HANA upgrades, and cloud infra management (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep expertise in performance monitoring, disaster recovery, and security aspects of SAP environments.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP security, SSO, and SAP Solution Manager/Cloud ALM setups.

• Drive migration strategies, monitoring, and root-cause analysis for critical Basis issues.
• Oversee TMS, kernel upgrades, and patch management processes across complex landscapes.
• Mentor junior Basis engineers and promote automation across SAP platform operations.

S/4 Senior Basis Consultant

Location: Field Based

Salary: £85,000 per annum plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, bonus, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme

About the Role

As an S/4 Senior Basis Consultant, you will design, implement, and maintain complex SAP S/4HANA systems, ensuring high performance, availability, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards. You will lead technical teams across system administration, database management, cloud migration, and integration strategy to deliver robust and scalable solutions.

As part of your key responsibilities, you’ll:

• Lead the technical architecture, installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA databases, and associated SAP cloud and on-premise components.


• Manage system performance tuning, high availability/disaster recovery setup, and lifecycle upgrades/system copies across complex landscape topologies.


• Collaborate with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), functional leads, and security teams to enforce robust infrastructure guardrails and cyber security compliance.


• Drive technical migration strategies, system monitoring, and root-cause analysis for critical SAP Basis issues and cutover activities.


• Oversee transport management system (TMS), kernel upgrades, SAP Solution Manager/Cloud ALM, and patch management processes.


• Mentor junior Basis engineers and champion continuous automation across SAP platform operations.

About You

We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role!

• Extensive experience in SAP Basis administration, including proven expertise with SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA database administration.


• Strong track record in executing SAP OS/DB migrations, S/4HANA upgrades, and public/private cloud infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, or GCP).


• Deep expertise in system performance monitoring, memory management, HANA backup/restore, and disaster recovery architectures.


• In-depth understanding of SAP security, authorisations, single sign-on (SSO), and Solution Manager / Cloud ALM setup.


• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on delivering quality operational outcomes and driving team technical excellence.


• Relevant SAP certifications (e.g. SAP Certified Technology Associate - SAP HANA / S/4HANA System Administration) or hyperscaler cloud architecture certifications are highly desirable.
