Vetted Recruitment Limited is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse for a busy South Manchester referral hospital. You will work across referral and first-opinion services, including A&E, with a supportive team and funded professional development.
The role covers theatre, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, inpatient care, and diagnostic procedures. You will be encouraged to develop your clinical expertise while maintaining excellent patient care at all times.
Build your clinical skills across referral, emergency and first-opinion nursing, with the support of experienced colleagues and funded professional development. This full-time, permanent RVN role offers genuine variety, a salary from £28,000 depending on experience, and consideration of a four- or five-day working week.
Based primarily at a busy multidisciplinary veterinary referral hospital, you will support both referral and first-opinion services within an organisation that also provides A&E care and operates five first-opinion practices. It is a role for a nurse who enjoys varied clinical work and wants to develop their expertise while keeping high-quality patient care at the centre of every shift.
Your work will span theatre and anaesthesia nursing, emergency and critical care, inpatient and ward nursing, diagnostic procedures, and medical and surgical nursing. From preparing patients for procedures and monitoring anaesthesia to delivering ongoing nursing care and recognising changes in a patient’s condition, your clinical judgement and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference.
You will work alongside skilled Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs in a supportive, experienced team committed to collaboration, learning and clinical excellence. There will also be opportunities to support colleagues and student nurses, sharing your knowledge while continuing to build your own.
You will need to be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse who delivers a high standard of patient care and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
A proactive, organised and reliable approach will help you manage varied nursing responsibilities. Just as important are a positive attitude, enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to support those around you. If you are keen to broaden your clinical experience or pursue further qualifications, the role offers practical support for your development.
This is a full-time, permanent position, with a flexible four- or five-day working week considered. The rota includes one in six weekends, with weekend shifts predominantly during the daytime. Time off in lieu is provided for weekend and bank holiday shifts.
The salary starts from £28,000, depending on experience. Professional support includes funded CPD, support for further qualifications, paid RCVS registration fees and VDS cover, alongside genuine career development opportunities.
The wider benefits package includes a health cash plan, enhanced parental leave, a holiday buy-and-sell scheme, a Cycle to Work scheme, a generous employee pet discount and life insurance. You will also receive one paid volunteering day each year, pro rata.
