Looking for a flexible, remote role so you can work from anywhere in the world?

Do you have access to a good Wi-Fi connection and a laptop/desktop with webcam and audio?

Then we would like to get to know you! As a Remote Interpreter, you will facilitate communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency by providing interpreting services over the phone or via video calls. You will interpret conversations accurately and efficiently in various professional settings, supporting clients with limited English skills.

Please note this is a self-employed position.

Requirements

The Job

• Interpreting between English and your native language over the phone or video calls.
• Providing interpretation services to clients with limited English proficiency.
• Interpreting for legal, health, and local government services.
• Checking understanding with non-English speakers after each sentence.
• Conducting conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
• Providing accurate, confidential, and impartial interpretation.
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the Code of Conduct.

About You

• Fluent in English and another language.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Age 21 or over.
• Qualifications such as:
  • Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
  • Community Interpreting
  • NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
  • Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
  • Other interpreting-related qualifications
