RURAL SURVEYOR - LEICESTERSHIRE

Are you a Rural Surveyor looking for your next career challenge? Our client, a well-established and highly respected firm based in the East Midlands, is seeking a motivated and proactive Rural Surveyor to join their Rural Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and properties while developing your skills in a supportive and professional environment.

About the Role

This role involves managing a variety of agribusiness and rural property matters, including estate management, agricultural tenancy work, and land diversification projects. The successful candidate will take on an engaging and varied workload, collaborating with colleagues while also working independently. The role is ideally suited to an individual with strong organisational skills, a common-sense approach, and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Managing estates comprising agricultural, residential, and commercial properties.
  2. Establishing and administering Farm Business Tenancies and Grazing Licenses.
  3. Advising on farming incentive schemes such as Sustainable Farming Incentives and Countryside Stewardship.
  4. Preparing budgets and cashflows for Contract and Share Farming Agreements.
  5. Recommending strategies for land management and exploring diversification opportunities.
  6. Handling compensation claims with statutory bodies and utility companies.
  7. Overseeing the sales and lettings of farms and agricultural land.
  8. Conducting property valuations for rural and residential properties.
  9. Providing expert professional advice to rural clients.

Candidate Profile

Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with clients, tenants, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptability to learn property-specific software.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused attitude.
  • Full clean driving license required.

Role Details

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Office hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-5:30 pm, Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm.
  • Flexible working arrangements considered for the right candidate.
  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, plus car allowance.
  • Discretionary bonus scheme.
