Job summary

Beach Baker Property Recruitment seeks a Rural Surveyor / Land Agent for a substantial private estate in Cornwall. The role offers a broad mix of agricultural, residential and commercial work, with exposure to environmental and diversification projects designed to grow the estate's long-term value.

Reporting to the Land and Property Director, you will manage tenancy portfolios, conduct valuations, and contribute to planning and development initiatives, with autonomy and collaborative support in

Qualifications

• RICS qualification in Rural Practice is required.
• Around three years’ post-qualification experience or more.
• Fellowship of the CAAV, or working towards it.
• A strong rural background, ideally including livestock and/or arable farming.
• Rural estate or property management experience.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded and solutions-focused.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing agricultural, residential and commercial tenancies.
• Rent reviews, lease renewals and landlord and tenant matters.
• Property inspections and general estate management.
• Leasing and letting rural, residential and commercial property.
• Capital and rental valuations.
• Telecoms agreements, wayleaves, easements and compensation matters.
• Compulsory purchase and compensation claims.
• Supporting planning, diversification and development projects.
• Assessing renewable energy opportunities.
• Delivering natural capital and environmental land management projects.
• Working closely with tenants, stakeholders, consultants and professional advisers.
• Supporting the strategic and long-term management of the wider estate portfolio.
