A respected regional law firm in Taunton is seeking a Rural or Energy Partner to lead and grow their practice. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in rural or energy law and proven business development skills. The Opportunity

As Rural or Energy Partner, you will:

• Lead and grow the rural or energy practice in Somerset, building on the firm’s already strong reputation.

• Work closely with farmers, landowners, renewable energy businesses, and developers on a wide range of high-value, complex matters.

• Deliver expert advice across agricultural property, rural estates, renewable energy projects, utilities, and land diversification.

• Build and develop long-term client relationships, while contributing to the firm’s strong community presence.

• Mentor and inspire junior colleagues, fostering a supportive and collaborative team culture.

• Play a strategic role in driving the growth of the office and shaping its future direction.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious, accomplished lawyer who:

• Has significant experience in rural or energy law, with a strong local presence and ideally a national profile.

• Brings proven business development skills and a track record of winning and retaining high-value work.

• Possesses excellent client care skills and strong commercial awareness.

• Has leadership or people management experience, with the ability to inspire, develop, and grow a team.

• Is excited by the opportunity to shape and expand a practice in a supportive, forward-thinking firm.
