Job summary

Norfolk County Council is seeking a Business Adviser (Rural) to help rural SMEs grow and diversify across Norfolk and Suffolk. You will provide specialist rural advice, support growth plans, access to finance, and collaborate with partners to promote growth while reducing carbon footprint.

The role requires experience in rural business management, strong communication skills, knowledge of environmental issues and UK rural policy.

Qualifications

• Experience in rural SME management and growth planning.
• Ability to distill technical information into plain English.
• Knowledge of environmental issues relating to rural businesses.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist rural advice to identify growth potential and reduce carbon footprint.
• Help rural businesses access finance for new ways of working.
• Collaborate with partners to promote rural business support and share best practices.
• Refer businesses to specialist advice for regulatory compliance and standards.
• Maintain accurate client records and follow up using CRM systems.
