Job summary

Heathview Medical Practice is recruiting a salaried GP to join its multi-site team, covering around eight sessions, negotiable. The post focuses on surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, prescribing, repeat prescription checks and care planning for about 18,000 patients in a rural area.

It suits a newly qualified or experienced GP and includes teaching. Flexible working hours will be discussed with the practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP.

Responsibilities

• Surgery and telephone consultations, plus home visits, per the practice timetable
• Making autonomous clinical decisions on presenting problems, including referrals from within the practice
• Assessing undifferentiated and undiagnosed health needs
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
• Developing care plans with patients in line with practice disease management protocols
• Keeping clear, timely consultation notes and handling paperwork, queries and correspondence
• Checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with related queries
• Issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, prescribing from the formulary where clinically appropriate
• Collecting data for audit
• Attending educational, multidisciplinary, practice and clinical meetings (paid)
• Attending training and events run by the practice and the ICB or Federation (paid)
• Taking part in an annual performance review and contributing to practice development
