Are you an experienced Senior Ruby Developer with expertise in building and maintaining enterprise web applications?

This is an opportunity to join an international ICT team on a short-term consultancy, contributing to the development and optimisation of Ruby on Rails applications that support business objectives and operational efficiency.

What you'll be doing:

• Gathering and analysing functional requirements from business analysts and end-users for new features and enhancements
• Designing and implementing new Ruby on Rails web applications
• Supporting bug fixes and minor change requests for live web applications developed in-house
• Delivering iterative improvements to existing Ruby on Rails applications
• Providing technical knowledge in engineering, releasing, and maintaining enterprise web-based applications
• Updating and maintaining IT knowledge base documentation for transparency and continuity
• Managing support tickets and ensuring efficient turnaround of technical issues
• Offering expertise across the full software development lifecycle from design to testing

What we're looking for:

• At least six years of professional software development experience, including two years with Ruby on Railsusing behaviour/test-driven development methodologies
• Strong track record of building APIs for Ruby on Rails applications
• Experience with open-source project contributions (desirable)
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Excellent development skills in Ruby on Rails and related web technologies
• Solid UNIX systems administration skills
• Experience with container architecture such as Kubernetes
• Knowledge of TCP/IP network design and debugging
• Familiarity with configuration management and virtualisation (e.g. VMware ESX)
• PostgreSQL administration and experience with versioning systems such as Git
• Knowledge of Nginx, HAProxy, and multiple operating systems (Linux, MacOS, Windows)
• Strong problem-solving skills, planning and organisational abilities, and effective communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
