Xcede is recruiting a Rubrik Architect for a leading UK energy and utilities organisation. This fully remote contract role focuses on enterprise data protection, disaster recovery and cyber resilience across hybrid environments. Immediate start, inside IR35, 6 months with strong extension potential.

You’ll shape architecture, standards and reporting, driving automation and governance while collaborating with senior stakeholders. Remote-first setup with UK-wide impact.

Qualifications

• Extensive proven experience delivering enterprise data protection and recovery solutions.
• Hands-on Rubrik expertise including Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC) and Cloud Data Management (CDM).
• Experience in hybrid on‑prem and cloud environments (Azure/AWS).

Responsibilities

• Define solution architectures, designs and engineering standards for data protection services.
• Lead Rubrik-based services across on‑prem and public cloud, aligned with security and governance.
• Drive IaC and automation using Terraform and Ansible; develop dashboards for service health and risk.
• Provide technical leadership throughout project delivery and service transition.

Rubrik Architect – Data Protection & Cyber Resilience

£550-650 per day Inside IR35 | Remote Working | Immediate Start | 6 months initial

I'm working with a leading UK technology solutions provider on an opportunity for an experienced Rubrik Architect to support a major UK energy and utilities organisation with its ongoing infrastructure modernisation and cyber resilience programme.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in shaping enterprise backup, recovery and data protection capabilities across a complex hybrid IT environment, helping safeguard critical business services and strengthen resilience against evolving cyber threats.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for defining solution architectures, technical designs and engineering standards for enterprise data protection services. Working closely with architects, engineers, product owners and senior stakeholders, you’ll translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure and supportable solutions.

You’ll also help shape the future direction of the Rubrik platform, driving improvements across backup, recovery, cyber recovery, automation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain solution architectures, technical designs and reference patterns for enterprise backup, recovery and cyber resilience.
• Lead the design and enhancement of Rubrik-based services across on-premises infrastructure and public cloud environments.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, security requirements and governance standards.
• Define engineering standards and best practices for backup, recovery and disaster recovery services.
• Support recovery testing and validation, ensuring critical services can be restored in line with business requirements.
• Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code adoption using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Develop reporting and dashboards to provide visibility of service health, compliance, risk and recovery readiness.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project delivery, service transition and operational improvement.

Experience Required

• Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise data protection and recovery solutions.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of Rubrik, ideally including Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC) and Cloud Data Management (CDM).
• Experience working across hybrid infrastructure environments, including on‑premises datacentres and cloud platforms.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Understanding of cyber resilience, ransomware protection, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, particularly Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience working within enterprise architecture, security and governance frameworks.

Rubrik certification and relevant Azure, AWS or ITIL qualifications would be advantageous.

Contract Details

• Start date: Immediate
• Duration: Initial contract through to 31st March 2027
• Extension: Strong likelihood of a further six-month minimum extension
