Job summary

VIQU IT is seeking an experienced Rubrik Architect for a 6-month contract. You will review and enhance an enterprise backup and recovery platform, focusing on improving data protection, cyber resilience and disaster recovery.

The role covers on-prem and cloud hybrid environments, automation with IaC (Terraform, Ansible), and involvement across architecture, engineering and operations. Fully remote throughout the contract.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Rubrik experience for enterprise backup and recovery.
• Experience reviewing, troubleshooting and optimising Rubrik environments.
• Knowledge of Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC) and CDM; Cloud Cluster and Exocompute beneficial.
• Solid understanding of cyber resilience, ransomware protection, disaster recovery and testing.
• Experience across hybrid infrastructure including virtualization, storage, servers and public cloud.
• Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS, plus automation and IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Review the existing Rubrik implementation, architecture and configuration for improvements.
• Enhance backup, recovery and cyber resilience, including ransomware protection and DR.
• Design and optimise Rubrik solutions across on-prem, virtualised and cloud environments.
• Develop technical designs, standards and recommendations for platform evolution.
• Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Improve monitoring, reporting and dashboards for health, compliance and recovery readiness.
• Test and validate backup integrity and recovery capabilities against business needs.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering and operations teams to define future platform direction.

Rubrik Architect – 6-month contract – Remote

My longstanding utilities client is seeking an experienced Rubrik Architect to review and enhance an existing enterprise backup and recovery platform.

The focus for the Rubrik Architect is on assessing the current implementation, identifying technical gaps and delivering improvements across data protection, cyber resilience, automation and recovery capabilities.

Key Skills & Experience from the Rubrik Architect:

• Strong hands-on experience with Rubrik, including enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
• Proven experience reviewing, troubleshooting and optimising an existing Rubrik environment.
• Knowledge of Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC) and Cloud Data Management (CDM); Cloud Cluster and Exocompute experience is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of cyber resilience, ransomware protection, disaster recovery and recovery testing.
• Experience across hybrid infrastructure environments, including virtualisation, storage, servers and public cloud.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform and Ansible.
• Ability to assess existing architectures, identify weaknesses and deliver practical technical improvements.

Key Responsibilities of the Rubrik Architect:

• Develop technical designs, engineering standards and recommendations to support the platform's ongoing development.
• Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
• Improve monitoring, reporting and dashboards to provide visibility of platform health, compliance and recovery readiness.
• Test and validate backup integrity and recovery capabilities against business requirements.
• Work with architecture, engineering and operational teams to deliver technical improvements and define the future direction of the platform.

The Rubrik Architect can work fully remote for the duration of the contract.
