Job description

Job Opportunity: Health & Fitness Assistant at Broadmoor Hospital

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a background in Sport and Fitness to join the Rehabilitation Therapy Service at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire, a high-security forensic hospital.

Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Health and Fitness senior team in planning group and individual fitness programs for patients.
  2. Encourage and support patients with mental health issues to engage in activities across various environments, including Ward Gym, Fitness Suite, Sports Hall, Outdoor G3 Multi-Use Area, and Fitness Studio.
  3. Work collaboratively with other disciplines to motivate patients and facilitate physical activities and sports.
  4. Participate in departmental safety procedures, including patient searches, session preparations, observations, escorting patients, and managing patient incompatibilities.

The team offers a weekly program of activities across the hospital wards. All staff are expected to contribute to safety and operational procedures.
