Job summary

Mackie Myers is recruiting a Reconciliations Manager in Manchester for a hybrid role (2 days in the office). You will lead a team responsible for complex balance sheet reconciliations, ensure timely month-end close and drive governance improvements across reconciliation processes.

The role also involves supporting finance systems automation, collaborating with Treasury and Reporting, and mentoring a high-performing team within a large finance function. Salary up to £68,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience leading a team of 3+ people.
• Experience in reconciliations, controls or financial accounting.
• Strong balance sheet and control experience.

Reconciliations Manager
Manchester | Hybrid Working (2 days in office) | £68,000 + Benefits
Mackie Myers are partnering with a large, complex consumer-facing organisation to recruit a RtRReconciliations Manager into a high-profile finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading business undergoing significant transformation and process improvement activity.
Leading a team of finance professionals, you'll take ownership of balance sheet integrity, reconciliation controls and process excellence, whilst playing a key role in driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives across the wider finance function.
The Role Reporting into senior finance leadership, responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing a team responsible for complex balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Ensuring accurate, timely and compliant month-end close processes.
• Driving improvements across reconciliation processes, controls and governance frameworks.
• Supporting the implementation and optimisation of finance systems and automation tools.
• Working closely with Financial Control, Treasury, Reporting and Business Partnering teams to resolve complex accounting issues.
• Taking ownership of balance sheet risk management and control remediation activities.
• Providing meaningful insight and analysis to senior stakeholders.
• Developing and mentoring a growing team within a fast-paced environment.

About You We're looking for an experienced finance leader who can operate in a complex, high-volume environment.
You will likely be:

• Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experienced leading a team of 3 + (essential)
• Experienced in leading reconciliation, controls or financial accounting teams.
• Comfortable managing large volumes of transactions within a complex organisation.
• Strong technically with excellent balance sheet and control experience.
• Experienced in delivering process improvement and automation initiatives.
• A confident stakeholder manager, able to influence and challenge senior colleagues.
• Passionate about developing people and building high-performing teams.
