Job description

Reporting to a Lead Divisional RTR Accountant who may be based in Manchester, UK this is a global RTR role within the Finance Shared Services Centre (FSSC). Hybrid working arrangements are in place.

The RTR Accountant will manage the accurate month-end reporting for several assigned entities. Working with the managers of the departments, the RTR Accountant ensures that the reported numbers are accurate, created to deadline and following both the control framework and accounting policy requirements.

What you will be doing
  1. Responsible for the accurate completion of accounting activities, delivering the month end close within the close calendar and completing the checklist.
  2. Implement department accounting activities such as journal entries, bank and cash postings, intercompany recharges, general ledger / sub-ledger and account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, other account analyses and department closing activities and the submission of the results for consolidation.
  3. Complete all tasks (e.g.: posting of adjustments, accruals and other types of journal entries) following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), internal finance policies, external statutory regulations and the internal controls framework.
  4. Implement specific internal controls within accounting processes, such as regular bank reconciliations and other general accounting activities.
  5. Maintain department ledgers / sub-ledgers within Oracle, providing accurate and complete records of assets, liabilities and transactions.
  6. Process monthly / quarterly income tax accruals and complete VAT returns.
  7. Contribution to strategic projects and/or continuous improvement initiatives in the organization.
  8. Provision of prompt and accurate responses to information requests from internal and external stakeholders e.g.: audit.
What you bring to the role
  1. Qualified Accountant - ACCA, CIMA, ACA, with at least 2 years of experience in a finance, Record to Report role.
  2. A customer service focus with commitment to building professional, responsive relationships.
  3. Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, strong experience operating internal controls.
  4. Possess the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  5. Assimilate large amounts of information quickly.
  6. Experience working for a complex, multinational organization and collaborating with colleagues internationally.
