Job description
We are in need of a pre-litigation fee earner in our Blackburn
Key Tasks
Progressing your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations.
To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously.
Identify cases that have an element of serious injury and elevate them from the Portal, supervised and supported by a recognised solicitor within the team.
Instruct barristers to represent clients at hearings and obtain formal advice over issues of quantum.
Instruct medical agencies, engineers and liaise with third parties.
Undertake other duties reasonably required by partners or senior management.
Person Specification
Essential Skills:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
A good understanding of the MOJ process.
Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
Have proven IT skills and ability to adapt new technology.
Able to demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills including oral and written presentation skills.
The ability to provide a high level of client care.
Desirable Skills:
Preferably claimant orientated.
Proficient with Proclaim Case Management, although training will be provided.
Experience of Infant Approval Hearings and Stage 3 hearings.
