  • £350 a day
  • 35 hours pw
  • Hybrid, minimum 2 days/week in our Abbey Wood office
  • 6 months, with potential to extend

Purpose of Job:

  • To be responsible to the Lead Project Manager for: Providing all aspects of training that are required to support ongoing projects and transformation work within the Repairs and Investment department.
  • Working with the Compliance Project Team and key stakeholders to implement new Compliance Software solutions for the Repairs and Investment department. Working across multiple multi-disciplinary project teams in the R&I transformation programme to create and deliver/co-deliver guidance, materials and training for staff which aim to embed new processes, drive new behaviours and deliver change that is sustainable.
  • Working with Housing IT colleagues and operational teams to help deliver training for system improvements and upgrades.
  • Working with champions to develop IT skills within our operational teams.
  • Acting as an ambassador for training and development as part of our business-as-usual setup, making recommendations on the strategic direction of training.
  • Maintaining a specialist knowledge through continuous professional development, keeping up to date with current legislation, policies, practices and systems, participating in local and national forums as required.
  • Market and promote the training programme ensuring training uptake is high.

Main Duties:

  1. Develop a training and implementation programme, promoting both face-to-face and online training opportunities, which helps the Repairs and Investment department to shape its future training offering.
  2. Lead on the development of a monitoring and evaluation framework for the Repairs and Investment training programme, providing regular reports and reviews to senior management.
  3. Develop training materials including documented training manuals, training plans, handouts, etc. for use during and post training delivery.
  4. Demonstrate a deep understanding of co-creation and the principles behind taking a user-centred approach to delivering training and change.
  5. Lean on a range of tools and techniques that ensure users are at the centre of the training we deliver, considering potential sensitivities and/or resistance to change.
  6. Work with the operational management team and project teams to ensure high quality customer focused services are delivered consistently and a supportive and developmental environment is in place.
  7. Demonstrate a deep understanding of modern technology and data platforms, including the range of available technology choices. Make informed decisions based on evidenced user need and value for money.
  8. Collaborate with key stakeholders to improve how the service works and to ensure end-to-end resident experiences can be delivered in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
  9. Work with team managers to evaluate the effectiveness of training delivered, revising and adapting if necessary.
  10. Develop a knowledge of local and central government initiatives and strategies impacting on the services provided by the Repairs and Investment department, proactively incorporating these into training.
  11. Line management and coaching of more junior members of the training and development team.
  12. Undertake all duties with due regard to the provisions of health and safety regulations and legislation, Data Protection/GDPR, the Council’s Equals Opportunities and Customer Care policies.
  13. Perform all duties in line with the Council’s staff values showing commitment to improving residents’ lives and opportunities, demonstrating respect and fairness, taking ownership, working towards doing things better and working together across the council.
