Location: Totton (Southampton); Havant (Portsmouth); Whitchurch (North Hampshire)

Transfer to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary!

This is an exciting opportunity to transfer directly to our Roads Policing Unit, working from one of three bases with a team of dynamic officers focused on delivering force and departmental priorities. We seek motivated, ethical, and inclusive officers committed to high-quality service and community policing. Applications from diverse backgrounds, especially female and BAME candidates, are encouraged.

Join the Joint Operations Unit, one of the largest collaborative units in England & Wales, and contribute to national roads policing strategies aimed at preventing harm, reducing collisions, and fighting crime through innovative policing and technology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality public service across the road network.
  • Responding to incidents across the strategic road network and districts.
  • Investigating serious injury and fatal collisions, potentially serving as Investigating Officer or Family Liaison Officer.
  • Using intelligence to target offences and develop specialist skills through training.
  • Focusing enforcement activities on high-risk roads and routes.
  • Collaborating with partners to reduce harm and enhance public confidence.

Essential Experience and Qualifications
  • Serving police officer from a Home Office Force with no current concerns.
  • Completed probation and policing diploma or equivalent.
  • Authorized to COP Advanced Driving and Tactical Pursuit and Containment.
  • Qualified to ride police motorcycles is especially welcomed.

Meet eligibility criteria, pass medical, vetting, fitness tests, and attend a 6-day Hampshire and IOW familiarisation course. Provide last 2 PDRs and evidence of qualifications during application. Details about the process and contact info are included.
