Minor Illness Nurse-The Maryhill Group Practice, Elgin

The Maryhill Group Practice, based in the beautiful town of Elgin in Moray, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Minor Illness Nurse to join the Practice Nurse Team. Hours can be negotiable, worked between 8.30-18.00 hrs.

About Us:

We are a long-established and innovative practice, dedicated to delivering high-quality care to our list of 22,500 patients. Our Partnership currently consists of five GPs, supported by an excellent team of salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Specialist Practice Nurses, an Integrated Community Nursing Team, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Mental Health Workers and Administrative staff.

The Role:

As a Minor Illness Nurse at the practice, you would be working alongside the Duty Doctor, Duty ECPs, ANPs, Minor Illness Nurses and Specialist Practice Nurses to help cover the unscheduled care work of our 22,500 patients. The main role consists of Minor Illness Clinics with the potential for Long Term Conditions management and telephone triage. The role, while autonomous, has the duty and wider team available for advice and support for the whole of the working day.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is competent and confident to work as an autonomous practitioner with the support of the wider team in all aspects of Minor Illness Management
  • Brings experience in either Primary Care, Acute or Emergency medicine
  • Experience in Minor Illness Management with an Independent Prescribing qualification desirable, not essential as training/education can be available for the suitable candidate
  • Is passionate about patient care and committed to delivering the highest standards of service
  • Thrives working in a fast paced environment
  • Has a collaborative, team-based approach
