Job summary

Penguin Random House UK is seeking a Royalty Audit Assistant to join the Royalties team in Frating, Essex. You will review royalty reporting, analyse data, and support audit planning while handling tax-related recoveries for overseas licensors.

This hybrid role requires accuracy, strong Excel skills, and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders. You will work from our Frating office at least one day per week and contribute to risk-based audit activities.

Qualifications

• Good numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with and reconciling large datasets.
• Experience of working with financial, royalty or other transactional data.

Responsibilities

• Review third-party royalty reporting and support audit planning and investigations.
• Analyse and reconcile data to identify discrepancies and document findings.
• Lead the recovery of income arising from overseas tax deductions and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
• Support royalty audits through data analysis and reconciliation of third-party statements.
• Perform quality assurance checks on cash and royalty statements and escalate anomalies.
• Track improvements from royalty audit reviews and follow up on actions.
