Job summary

Angard Staffing is hiring flexible Mail Sorters to support Royal Mail operations. You will unload mail, sort by postcode and move items through the warehouse, working fast to meet tight deadlines. Training is provided and prior sorting experience is a plus but not required.

Shifts run across early, late and night patterns, with 4 to 12 hours per shift and weekend work possible. Pay rates are £15.14 per hour on days and lates; £16.44 per hour on nights; on-site at various Royal Mail sites.

Angard Staffing is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as flexible(temporary)Mail Sorters with Royal Mail.

Whether you're looking to gain experience or take on a new challenge, this is your chance to be part of a team that helps keep the country moving.

Shifts are available any day of the week, from Monday to Sunday, and vary depending on operational needs.

All shifts are a minimum of 4 hours, with the potential to extend up to 12 hours.

We operate across three main shift patterns:

Early Shifts: Typically start between 05:00 and 14:00.

Late Shifts: Typically start between14:00 to 22:00.

Night Shifts: Typically start between22:00 to 05:00.

Please note that shift times may vary slightly by location and role. Flexibility is essential, and candidates should be prepared to work across different shift patterns, including weekends, where required.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Mail Sorter, you’ll be at the heart of our operations:

• Unloading mail and parcels
• Sorting items by postcode and moving them through the warehouse
• Working efficiently to meet tight deadlines – some teams sort over a million items in a single shift!

You’ll also be expected to handle election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to have worked for us before (we love new people!), but experience in warehouse or sorting work is a plus.

Our ideal candidate:

• Enjoys working in a fast-paced setting
• Pays close attention to detail
• Is flexible and comfortable switching between tasks
• Can push trolleys up to 250kg and lift mail bags up to 11kg
• Can stand and walk for long periods during shifts
• Reliable and flexible with good attention to detail
• No previous experience needed – training provided
• Comfortable switching between tasks

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for Mail Sorter roles within our Mail Centres and Parcel Hubs. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria are met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.

• Day Shift: Starts and finishes between 05:31–19:59. Pay rate is £15.14 per hour.
• Lates: Finishes between 21:40–01:59. Pay rate is £15.14 per hour.
• Nights: Three hours across 23:00-05:00. Pay rate is £16.44 per hour.
