Job summary

Angard Recruitment is seeking flexible Royal Mail Delivery Drivers in Worthing. You’ll be the face of the service, delivering letters and parcels across your round, combining van driving with on-foot delivery and great community service.

Roles are temporary, require a full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points), ability to walk ~20,000 steps daily, and flexible shifts. Training and driving assessment provided as you start.

Responsibilities

• Securely deliver all items on your route, including election materials and restricted items in line with Royal Mail standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points – you’ll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine. You’ll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.

You’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

Important to Know

While large parts of the role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail delivery van is also a key requirement. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being outdoors and staying active throughout the day. Please note: you’ll be required to pass a driving assessment when you start.

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.

• Dawn Shift – STARTS BETWEEN 0201 - 0400 – £14.61
• Early 0500 – STARTS BETWEEN 0401 - 0500 – £14.61
• Early 0530 – STARTS BETWEEN 0501 - 0530 – £14.61
• Evening – FINISHES BETWEEN 2000 - 2139 – £14.38
• Lates – FINISHES BETWEEN 2140 - 0159 – £15.14
• Nights – THREE HOURS ACROSS 2300 - 0500 – £16.44
