Position: ROV/Trencher Pilot Technician

Support the operation, repair, and maintenance of the ROV/Trencher spread, which typically includes:

  • ROV Handling System (LARS)
  • Subsea TMS/ROV and control system/PDU on surface

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform duties in accordance with requirements, understanding work scope, order, and individual responsibilities
  • Prioritize safety and occupational health for personnel, environment, and assets
  • Adhere to applicable statutory regulations and company/client HSEQS policies
Role Specific:
  • Participate in Risk Assessments / Safe Job Analysis and communicate findings
  • Conduct Toolbox Talks and inform the ROV Supervisor
  • Follow operational task plans and ensure equipment readiness
  • Maintain equipment and ROV spreads in operational condition
  • Perform setup and testing during mobilizations
  • Report equipment status, deviations, and problems to the ROV Supervisor
  • Ensure accurate reporting and compliance with procedures
  • Contribute to technical and operational improvements
  • Read and understand electrical/hydraulic drawings
  • Possess excellent technical understanding of ROV systems
Key Tasks:
  • Participate in operational activities and advise as needed
  • Assist in maintenance of ROV systems including TMS, CCTV, communications, hydraulics, mechanical parts, tooling, sensors
  • Report equipment issues to the ROV Supervisor
  • Update technical documentation as required
  • Maintain the ROV spread to high standards
  • Monitor equipment operation and safety
  • Apply fault-finding techniques during breakdowns
  • Assist in commissioning and testing
  • Work according to standard shift hours
Education and Qualifications:
  • Apprenticeship Certificate in Electronics, Automation, Remote Systems, or Electric
Role Experience:
  • Ability to oversee complex ROV operations
  • Strong understanding of ROV systems
  • Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic drawings
Personal Skills:
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Comfortable working at height
  • Client-focused, social, reliable team player
  • Competency assessments required
Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote)
